Melanie Zani joined the Braun-Dullaeus Pannen Emmerling (BDPE) team in 2021 and was admitted to practice as a patent attorney in 2022.
During her training, she handled patent prosecution proceedings in a medium-sized law firm, in particular drafting patent applications. Melanie has also completed training periods at the German Patent and Trademark Office and the Federal Patent Court. At BDPE, she focuses on patent litigation and thus rounds out her professional profile.

In her professional career, Melanie has been able to work intensively on patents in the fields of optical and medical engineering, mechanical engineering and information technology.
Before becoming a patent attorney Melanie worked in a consultancy for the utility sector for 5 years. Melanie holds an engineering degree from the Polytechnic Institute of Milan and passed the Italian State Examination, which entitles her to independently practice engineering in Italy.
In her studies, her core areas of expertise were in statistical and probabilistic modeling of environmental systems, as well as computer science, structural mechanics, and remote sensing. In her professional career she has been able to work intensively on patents in the fields of optical and medical engineering, mechanical engineering and information technology.
