Dipl.-Ing. Jörg Kohlschmidt is a patent attorney and has been working in the field of intellectual property for more than 10 years. For the past 5 years, his practice has focused on patent litigation in the telecommunications sector, as well as in video/ audio coding and power electronics sector. Prior to that, he spend several years in the prosecution of patent applications in the field of telecommunications and power electronics.
In addition to his legal experience, he also has extensive technical knowledge based on his 15 years of previous work in research and development in the area of mobile communications, in particular digital signal processing.
This enables him to provide comprehensive advice and support to clients.

Jörg has actively participated in several proceedings before the German Federal Patent Court, the German Federal Supreme Court as well as the European Patent Office. His strength lies in his ability to delve deeply into the technical field and to develop convincing lines of argumentation even in ongoing proceedings. In doing so, he is also able to actively apply his practical experience in the field of electrical engineering and metrology to the benefit of his clients.
Jörg joined Braun-Dullaeus Pannen Emmerling (BDPE) as a patent attorney in January 2019. He completed his training as a patent attorney at the law firm Wagner & Geyer. Here, his practice focused on EP and PCT patent prosecution of patent applications in the fields of telecommunications and semiconductor technology from international telecommunications companies. Previously, he worked for manufacturers of mobile phones and for international semiconductor companies with a focus on digital signal processing.
He holds a degree in electrical engineering / telecommunications from University of Rostock.
