Dr. Dirk Müssig joined Braun-Dullaeus Pannen Emmerling (BDPE) as a patent attorney in October 2019, and has been working in the field of intellectual property for more than 8 years.
His focus is on patent prosecution in the area of telecommunications, energy networks, electric and electronic systems, electric vehicle, power electronics, lasers, optics, medical devices, mechatronics/mechanical engineering as well as physics in general.

Prior to working as a patent attorney, he worked as a patent attorney trainee at BDPE and at Bonnekamp & Sparing, gaining experience mainly in patent prosecution and opposition proceedings.
Dirk additionally spent part of his patent attorney training at the Higher Regional Court of Düsseldorf, where he worked in the Intellectual Property Litigation Senates of the presiding judges Dr. Kühnen and Mr. Voß.
Prior to his training as a patent attorney, Dirk worked as a consultant in the pharmaceutical industry in the statistical evaluation of drug studies. Part of his work is focused on the market access of drugs.
He obtained his doctorate in medical physics in the field of tumor therapy with heavy ions at the GSI Helmholtz Center for Heavy Ion Research.
He completed his studies in physics at the Technical University of Darmstadt.
