Dr. Michael Behmke is a patent attorney working in the field of intellectual property for medium-sized companies as well as multinational corporations for more than 8 years. His patent attorney focus is on patent infringement cases in the field of telecommunications and patent prosecution. With this experience, he also assists clients in protecting their ideas with high quality patent applications. Based on his education and professional practice, Michael has in-depth knowledge of telecommunications, electronic systems in automotive and pump technology, thin-film processing, optics and laser physics.

Michael has actively participated in proceedings at the German Federal Patent Court and the European Patent Office, both in the first instance and in the appeal instance. By committing himself to the technical details of the cases without losing sight of the big picture, he consistently succeeds in building convincing lines of argumentation that lead towards positive economic results for his clients. His strength lies in his ability to bring the most complex issues to the point in the simplest possible way, especially when coordinating with colleagues and clients.
He completed his patent attorney training at the law firm Cohausz Hannig Borkowski Wißgott.
Before joining Braun-Dullaeus Pannen Emmerling (BDPE) as a patent attorney in March 2019, he worked as a development engineer at the multinational corporation Saint-Gobain where he gained his first insights into the world of intellectual property protection as an inventor of several patents.
Michael is diploma physicist and received his doctorate in laser physics from the Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf. He additionally earned his physics diploma at the Friedrich Schiller University in Jena, which is renowned for optical technologies.
